Appointment Preparation.
Following these instructions prior to your procedure will help ensure a more relaxed, comfortable, and enjoyable experience.
Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, and/or nicotine for at least 24 hours before your procedure. Consumption of these items can cause excessive bleeding and interrupt your skin’s healing process. These items are stimulants and will heighten your sensitivity during the procedure. Doing so may result in rescheduling and forfeiture of your appointment.
Exfoliate with a facial scrub/wash & moisturize your skin for 1 week prior to your appointment to prep your skin for the procedure.
Lips: Exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub 4 days and 2 days prior to the appointment. Sleep with a lip mask for at least 1 week prior.
Please eat something 20 - 30 minutes prior to your appointment. Do not plan anything too closely after your appointment so that we are not rushed.
If you bruise easily, we recommend taking Arnica before and after your procedure. Arnica is available at most health food stores.
If you are on blood thinners, check with your doctor to make sure you can go 24 hours without them. It is not advised to be on blood thinners for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. You may take them right after the procedure is finished.
Avoid tanning and tanning beds 2 weeks before/after the procedure.
Please avoid any products containing Retin-A, AHA/BHA, acid for 2 weeks before/after the procedure around the procedure area. These products can cause excessive bleeding and interrupt your skin’s healing process.
You may request a patch test 2 weeks before the procedure. We are required by the color manufacturer to offer that to you, but it is not needed. A patch test does not ensure that you will not develop a reaction later on.
